Bhavana Jain is the Founder of Sarthi Medical and Education Charitable Trust and the driving force behind countless smiles of Thalassemia warriors. Her journey earned her the name “Fighter Lady” not only because of what she does, but how she lives. In 2020, when she was struck by COVID, she fought back with quiet grit and returned to serve the children who look up to her. Even today, while bravely facing a major health diagnosis, she continues to show up—with the same warmth, resolve, and motherly care—for every child in the Sarthi family.
Under her leadership, Sarthi runs hands-on programs that meet both medical and emotional needs: regular blood-donation camps, help with medicine procurement, support for diagnostics and chelation therapy, and practical educational assistance including computer and flute courses for children. Beyond treatment, she insists that childhood must feel like childhood—so the trust celebrates birthdays, festivals (Diwali, Eid, Christmas), organizes picnics and tours, movie days, and community awareness events with partners such as Lions Club and stage/fashion programs—so the kids feel seen, confident, and proud.
Her affection is action: planting trees with the children, arranging cricket matches with doctors’ clubs, and facilitating celebrity interactions—from international cricketers Irfan, Yusuf & Parthiv Patel, Munaf Patel to artists like RCR and beloved TV figures Dayanand Shetty and Prashant Jyotir—because she knows a single inspiring moment can change a child’s self-belief.
The community has recognized this tireless service: from Surat Municipal Corporation’s International Women’s Day (2020) felicitation to SIBA Awards, and global honours such as Inspiring Indian Women Awards 2024 (House of Commons, UK)—among many others.
Why “Fighter Lady”? Because Bhavana fights on two fronts—personally, with courage through illness, and publicly, for every child with Thalassemia. Her dedication is defined by love that remembers every birthday, ensures every transfusion, and opens every door to learning, dignity, and joy.
At Sarthi Medical and Education Charitable Trust, our dedicated volunteers are the driving force behind every event, every smile, and every life we touch.
From organizing blood donation camps to helping children with Thalassemia celebrate their birthdays and festivals, they work selflessly to bring light and love into the lives of others.
